Singles celebrate Christmas in July

Every July for as long as we can remember, single adults from across the stake have gathered for a Christmas in July celebration. This year was no exception.

On Saturday 12 July, a group of around 40 single adults - of all ages and circumstances - gathered at Launceston to be fed, entertained and uplifted.

A volunteer crew from the Launceston wards under the direction of Esk Ward high priests group leader David Say set to work to present a sumptuous meal of roast chicken and vegetables, followed by an indulgent cheesecake dessert.

After the meal, high councillor Wayne Lunson, with the help of guest artist Joana Kargbo from Esk Ward, provided some light musical entertainment featuring a selection of well known songs. Some weren't content with just listening, and got up to dance!

The activity concluded with a video of a General Conference talk from April 2009 by Elder Steven E. Snow of the Seventy about making the most of our opportunities in life.
